Before all the boring stuff, let me give you the secret to ALL successful communication.

The problem: Following the Golden Rule may lead to “I”-disease.

The solution: Do unto others as THEY would have you do unto THEM.

Yup. The starting place is always the other person, the audience, the client, the customer, not you. Got it?  Let THEM lead and results will follow. That’s the secret to influence, persuasion and selling. Look, listen, learn.

Okay, so how did I figure this out? I spent 17 years at Citigroup as a Senior Vice President serving in a variety of roles, including Office of the Chief of Staff, Director of Business Practices, Global Spokesperson and National Sales Manager for Citicorp Investment Services. I've had the pleasure to coach fabulous individuals and consult with numerous industry leaders and thankfully, I'm consistently rated as a top speaker at industry and leadership conferences. Some of the industries I've worked in are: bio-tech, entertainment, plastics, technology, energy, and government contracting. Clients include: GE, Corning Glass, Houston Biotech, Schlumberger, Hewlett Packard, SAIC, Entergy, United Technologies and Marriott as well as many leading financial services companies.

I like to laugh. Don't you? My style is "edu-tainment". I share relevant, easy to implement strategies to get results in a compelling and memorable way. I tell a lot of stories and use a lot of pictures. It'a blend of evidence-based communication theory and practical wisdom, offering sophisticated tools to replace wishing and hoping that time, chance, or luck will handle it.

Sure, I've been an adjunct Professor of Communications since 2002 at the Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. And, since 2010 teach Management Communications at the Stern School of Business at NYU. Previously, I taught Exec Ed communication courses at the Wharton Business School. This year, I conquered the space of on line training, teaching Business Communication to students in the Jones School of Business at Rice University.

I love all opportunities to guest lecture at international schools including Graduate School of Business Administration in Zurich, Bogazici University (Istanbul, Turkey) and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. Oh, and I was in the top 15% at the Smith School/UMD in 2016 I was nominated for Stern/NYU MBA Teacher of the Year.

I came up with the job description "communicologist", as a way to blend what I’ve learned about psychology and influence. My passion is helping you get your message across powerfully. I love sharing the exciting journey as we see unfolding of both the practical and the profound.

I’ve delivered workshops and seminars to thousands of executives in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America on presentation skills, consultative selling and management communications. In one review I was described as, "A sought after speaker who electrifies audiences and inspires us with her stories and humor." My most favorite comment was when someone described me as a "simplicator", because I see my gift  as the ability to help make complex concepts easy to communicate and implement.

I’m delighted to be a consultant in NYU's STEP program (Stern Teacher Effectiveness Program), working with professors to improve their classroom presence and teaching effectiveness. I've also worked with faculty at Olin School of Business/Washington St. Louis, Lubin School of Business/Pace, and Columbia Business School. Impact was demonstrated with improvements in classroom participation and engagement, use of stories, cases and examples that are relevant and timely, improved slide design and stating the objective for each topic. Student evaluations go up and they are less inclined to post negative reviews.

As an executive coach and consultant, I've worked with hundreds of corporate leaders and entrepreneurs, bringing them from good to great. Leaders receive the insights and tools needed to listen, set clear objectives and engender cooperation and respect. The positive results dramatically improve the company's internal culture, reputation and profitability.

For my Board experience, and volunteer work, I was a Trustee at the Securities Industry Association (now SIFMA) for 10 years, on the Board of the Albert Ellis Institute for Rational Living, and was elected to the Board of NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) in 2010, serving as Treasurer. I’ve been a pro bono consultant to Save the Children for years and proud to be involved with this amazing organization. I currently volunteer at the Fortune Society, working with the formerly incarcerated to sharpen their interviewing skills and build confidence to secure employment and reenter the workforce. They are some very brave souls who work hard to successfully change their lives.

I have undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts in Communication Science from the University of Connecticut. I loved becoming Certified Professional Coach (CPC) in 2009. I’ve held NASD licenses 7, 22, 24 and 63. My book, Communication Essentials: A Sell-abration, which I wrote in 2000 talks about the complicated business of building relationships.

They say I was born talking and my first words were, "ta-da", so it’s safe to say I eagerly await my next audience. Why not let it be you? I know fun, magic and possibility are right around the corner.
